International Journal of English and Cultural Studies

International Journal of English and Cultural Studies (ISSN: 2575-811X; E-ISSN: 2575-8101) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal, published by Redfame Publishing. It is dedicated to advancing the study of the English language, Anglophone cultures, and their global intersections by publishing high-quality theoretical, applied, and empirical research that reflects the field’s diversity—particularly interdisciplinary work exploring the dynamic relationship between language and culture in Anglophone and global contexts.

The journal is published semiannually (May and November) in both print and online formats. The journal accepts article submissions online or by e-mail.

Focus and Scope:

• English Linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, World Englishes, cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, and historical linguistics
• English Language Teaching and Learning: Pedagogy, curriculum design, classroom practices, intercultural communication in ELT, learner and teacher identity, and the application of technology in English language teaching (e.g., CALL, AI-assisted learning, blended learning, digital learning platforms)
• English Literature and Literary Criticism: British, American, and global Anglophone literatures; postcolonial and diasporic writing in English; literary discourse, ideology, and cultural representation
• Translation and Interpreting Studies: Translation theory and practice involving English, especially in multilingual and cross-cultural contexts; contrastive analysis between English and other languages; adaptation and localization practices in multilingual settings; interpreter training and ethics; and the role of translation in mediating cultural identity and power dynamics.
• Cultural Studies in Anglophone and Global Contexts:
  • Media and popular culture in Anglophone contexts or involving English-language cultural products, including film, television, music, and digital media (e.g., social media, streaming platforms), with attention to the production, circulation, and recontextualization of cultural forms.
  • Cultural identity, race, gender, and class in Anglophone contexts and transnational communities
  • Transnational reception and adaptation: studies of how Anglophone cultural products are received, interpreted, localized, or resisted in global contexts
  • Language, power, and cultural representation, including the global reception, adaptation, and transformation of Anglophone cultural products

Submissions should demonstrate a clear connection to the English language or Anglophone cultural products and environments, including their global reception, adaptation, and transformation. Theoretical, applied and empirical submissions are all welcome.

Submission Preparation

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

- Please read the Author Guide before you submit a manuscript.

- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

- The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.

- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guide.

- Add DOIs and persistent links to those references that have DOIs, please see the Author Guide.

- If the paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Processing Charge: 200 USD/article.

- Copyrights for articles published in this journal are retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. The journal/publisher is not responsible for subsequent uses of the work. It is the author's responsibility to bring an infringement action if so desired by the author.
