Focus and Scope

IJECS aims to promote excellence through dissemination of high-quality research findings, specialist knowledge, and discussion of professional issues that reflect the diversity of this field.

The scopes of the journal include:

  • English Language Studies: Linguistics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, World Englishes, history of the English language, and studies of English language acquisition in social and educational contexts
  • English Language Teaching and Learning: Pedagogy, curriculum design, classroom practices, intercultural communication in ELT, learner and teacher identity, and the application of technology in English language teaching (e.g., CALL, AI-assisted learning, blended learning, digital learning platforms)
  • English Literature and Literary Criticism: British, American, and global Anglophone literatures; postcolonial and diasporic writing in English; literary discourse, ideology, and cultural representation
  • Cultural Studies in Anglophone Contexts:
    • • Media and popular culture: film, television, music, and digital media (e.g., social media, streaming platforms), with attention to the production, circulation, and recontextualization of cultural forms in and across Anglophone and global contexts
    • • Cultural identity, race, gender, and class in Anglophone contexts and transnational communities
    • • Transnational reception and adaptation: studies of how Anglophone cultural products are received, interpreted, localized, or resisted in global contexts
    • • Language, power, and cultural representation

Submissions should demonstrate a clear connection to the English language or Anglophone cultural environments.

Peer Review Process

The journal uses double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers and authors' identities remain anonymous. The paper will be peer-reviewed by three experts; two reviewers from outside and one editor from the journal typically involve in reviewing a submission.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
